U.S. Marines 1944 Support Weapons

By 1944, the U.S. Marines were using a variety of essential combat support weapons.

Among them, the M2 Browning heavy machine gun (.50 cal) and the M1919 Browning medium machine gun (.30 cal) offered continuous fire support.

The M1 60 mm and M2 81 mm mortars allowed effective indirect fire.
